An uncommon hybrid that, as adults, are mostly yellow with some orange coloration by the face and thighs. The wings are partially green with patches of yellow towards the shoulder. The flights are green or blue-green, and the bill is lighter in color but often keeps some of the Sun Conure’s melanin. Immature birds are
An uncommon hybrid that often looks like a juvenile Sun or Jenday Conure due to its green coloration overlapping brighter oranges and yellows. They may sometimes be confused for more brightly-colored Gold-capped Conures. Juvenile Gold-capped x Sun crosses tend to have darker, greener plumage than adults. Given that the two species are very closely-related, it’s
An uncommon hybrid that is often confused with a Nansun (Nanday x Sun Conure) cross, but with greener overall plumage. They have a blackish-brown cap that may extend lower across the face, a faded orange belly, and blue on the tail and flight feathers. The body type of these birds tends to be intermediate between
An uncommon hybrid with plumage in varying shades of green and brownish-green, the latter specifically on the forehead, collar, and belly. The pale ear markings of the Green-cheeked Conure are also visible, though very faded. The pictured birds are juveniles, but won’t change much in appearance as they reach adulthood.
Gold-capped Conure x Jenday Conure hybrids are mostly green with patches of yellow-orange plumage on the face and a brighter red marking on the belly. Though the strength of these markings may vary from bird to bird, they will always have green wings, a dark-colored bill, and some blue on the flight and tail feathers.
Most Crimson-fronted Conures have hybrid ancestry, often with Scarlet-fronted or Mitred Conures as seen here. However, they are rarely identified due to how similar these species naturally are. Comparing the pictured bird to a pure Crimson-fronted Conure, the hybrid lacks a defined and solid red marking on the crown; Some red feathers spill out to
These hybrids are green with a grayish cap, faded buff ears, a mixed-color bill, and some yellow-orange feathers on the shoulders. The scalloped collar feathers are a mix between the two species, usually switching from a silver to a yellowy edge towards the breast. A red belly may be present or may be very faded
This rare hybrid has features of both parents, including strong white ears, a blush crown, a gray cap, a maroon-colored region encircling the eyes, and blue-green cheeks. The collar, nape, and breast are comprised of gray feathers edged with white. The belly patch is red but isn’t as large as a pure Venezuelan’s belly. Lastly,
Venezuelan x Green-cheeked Conure hybrids are rare crosses due to how uncommon Venezuelan Conures are in captivity. The pictured bird inherited a Cinnamon mutation from its Green-cheeked Conure parent, which makes the plumage lighter and more yellow-green than it would normally be. However, this hybrid would have likely had a dark-colored cap with a red
An uncommon hybrid very similar in appearance to Dusky-headed x Sun Conure crosses. Two juveniles are pictured, having a brownish-orange head, green wings, an orange belly, and blue on the flight and tail feathers. Adults likely have brighter heads and bellies, though these would still be somewhat brownish in color. Compared to the previously-mentioned hybrid,
