Sunsky Conures are somewhat common hybrids with mostly green and orange plumage. Mature individuals tend to have a brownish-orange head and belly with a light green chest and darker green wings. The flight and tail feathers are dark blue, and the bill is dark-colored. Immature birds, however, have greener plumage on the heads and bellies.
An uncommon hybrid, Dusky-headed x Green-cheeked Conure crosses tend to be green with a brownish crown, slightly paler ears, a grayish collar, and blue flight feathers. The belly and tail feathers are typically brownish. While some individuals have noticeably darker heads like a Dusky-headed Conure, others do not. Their beak, however, will always be dark
Crim-cheek Conures are somewhat common hybrids that can be easily identified by their redder-than-normal bellies. They typically have more blue-green plumage than pure Green-cheeked Conures, especially on their cheeks, nape, and thighs. While both of the first two pictured birds are mutation-less, it is not uncommon for them to inherit a Cinnamon and/or Yellow-sided mutation
A somewhat rare hybrid a dark cap, red-pink ears, blue-green cheeks and thighs, and grayish collar feathers. Adults tend to have a bright patch of scattered red plumage on their bellies, whereas immature birds will not. Lastly, the bill is semi-clear colored with small amounts of melanin remaining towards the edges.
The pictured bird, one of the only photographed hybrids of this kind, is green with a scattered red crown. The extent of this red facial plumage likely differs from bird to bird, just as it does in other Cherry-headed Conure hybrids. Like the White-eyed Conure parent, they may have individual red feathers on the cheeks
A common hybrid that is very rarely identified due to how similar it looks to both species. They are mostly green, like all Psittacara parrots, but with red markings starting off strong at the face and breaking up towards the cheeks and neck. They may look like a Mitred Conure with increased red, or a
An uncommon hybrid that is slowly becoming more popular in America as they are occasionally sold at stores. Adults are yellow-green with varying red plumage on the head, neck, underwings, and belly. The wings are a darker shade of green than the rest of the body, and the bill has less melanin than the Sun
A rare hybrid only bred a handful of times, adult Blue-crowned x Jenday Conures seem to be green with scattered red, orange, and yellow feathers on the head, underparts, and wing edges. The pictured birds are mature and were surrendered to the Center For Avian Adoption, Rescue, and Education (CAARE) in West Fargo, ND. USA.
The red and blue feathers of the parent species appear to “cancel out” in this hybrid, leaving only a handful of red feathers across the head of the pictured bird. The strength of these may vary from hybrid to hybrid, though the rarity of Blue-crowned x Cherry-headed Conures means that there are few others it
Blue-crowned x Nanday Conure hybrids are somewhat rare birds with a faded brownish-blue mask, a light-colored maxilla, a dark-colored lower mandible, and blue-green flight and tail feathers. Some crosses may have a very faded aqua-colored band across their neck or reddish-brown feathers on their legs. They are usually bred between pets or birds that have
