Rubyrock Macaws are 50% Scarlet Macaw, 25% Green-winged Macaw, and 25% Military Macaw. As a result, they are mostly identical to Scarlet x Shamrock Macaws; Rubyrocks are primarily red with large patches of yellow and green on the nape, mantle, and wings. Their flight feathers are blue while their bill is a mix of ivory and gray. As a result of their Green-winged and Military Macaw ancestry, some thin stripes are present across the face and dark gray feathers can be observed below the beak – these features are key in separating Rubyrocks from other second generation hybrids involving Scarlet Macaws.
