A rare variety that is currently being bred at the Zoo del Istmo Conservation Center, Lutino Maroon-tailed Conures are mostly yellow with a whitish cap, nape, and chest, as well as pinkish ears and a mixed yellow and red face. The flight feathers are white while the tail and eyes are bright red. Although the variety is visually very similar to Lutino Green-cheeked Conures, they are far rarer in part due to a lack of pure Maroon-tailed Conures in captivity.
