Recessive Pied is one of the most well-known pied mutation among any species of conure. The variety was developed in America and has since spread to the rest of the world, becoming common enough to enter the pet trade in some areas. Recessive Pieds are almost completely yellow and orange, though many individuals have some remaining blues and greens towards the wing tips and tail. Even among juvenile birds, young Recessive Pied have enough bright coloring to easily separate them from any non-pied nestmates. The most important indicator of Recessive Pied is a dark bill, a trait typically also present in young birds.
