A recently-discovered variety, Dilute Pied originated in Canada and differs somewhat from Recessive Pied in Sun Conures. The biggest difference between the two can be found in young birds, which have brighter plumage and a pinkish beak, tongue, and feet. Dilute Pieds lose some of the pink in their bill as they mature, also developing almost completely yellow plumage. Although Dilute Pied is a dominant mutation, it’s unclear if there’s a difference between SFs and DFs given how recently it was found.
