True Blue is very rare in Nanday Conures, potentially being the rarest of all color varieties in the species. Blue Nandays are azure blue with slightly darker flight and tail feathers, as well as a blackish mask. The thighs are white while the bill, feet, and eyes are unaffected.
Blue Nandays were first discovered in the UK before successfully spreading to Czechia and Germany, where they were developed further. As of 2025, they have yet to be crossed with Lutino, Dilute, or any other mutations in the species.
