Pastel Nanday Conures are slightly paler than a wild-type Nanday, having lighter green body plumage, a dark brown mask, lighter blue breast patch, and medium blue on the tip of the tail and the primary flight feathers. The color of the feet, bill, and eyes appear to remain unchanged. Though similar to Faded, the brown and blue color of Pastels is noticeably darker by comparison. Pastels are somewhat rare and likely have an autosomal recessive mode of inheritance.
