Dun Fallow Dusky-headed Conures are yellowish-green birds with a light gray head, dark red eyes, and a pink bill & feet. The removal of melanin from the head reveals small yellow feathers close to the beak and eyes – something not normally visible in wild-types. Although the provided images don’t show the bird’s backside, their flight feathers and tail tip are pale blue.
This mutation is very rare and still in the process of being established by David Garcia in the USA; It first appeared when two closely-related individuals hatched three mutant young in 2024.
