Dun Fallow is a rare color mutation that was first discovered in South Africa in the 1980s. The variety is similar to Dilute and Cinnamon, being somewhat yellowish with pink ears, light green wings, and bright red across the crown, belly, and tail. Unlike these two aforementioned mutations, both their bill and toes are pink while their eyes, which are about the same shade as a Lutino, are permanently red. Many pictures also seem to show a golden “glow” across the lighter parts of the body, similar to Pale Fallow Maroon-bellied Conures.
Dun Fallow in Green-cheeked Conures is typically pure, though other fallow genes are occasionally inherited through hybridization with Maroon-bellied Conures.
