Misty, sometimes known as Jade or Khaki, is an uncommon color mutation in Green-cheeked Conures. Birds of this variety have more gray-green plumage that becomes easier to detect through flash photography. Green-cheeks with a single copy of the mutation (called Single Factors or SFs) have slightly drier green plumage, while birds with two copies (called Double Factors or DFs) are an even darker shade of olive.
Misty is almost always bred with Yellow-sided or Turquoise to make its effects more obvious. Though similar, both SF and DF Misty Green-cheeks are lighter in color and have bluer flight feathers than Gray-green in this species.
